- Many BBSes run on MS-DOS computers and use ANSI graphics. These graphics
- have two levels of brightness. Z-Term displays bright text as bold print on
- the Macintosh. Having all that text displayed as bold can make the words
- difficult to read. The resource file in this package will replace the bold
- fonts in Z-Term with plain-faced fonts so that Z-Term will never display
- bold print. If the bold type doesn't disturb you, then don't use this
- package.
- This modification is free. Please keep it that way. Remember to smile if
- you enjoy it. Distribute to your heart's content, but please keep this
- package intact, together with this help file.
-
- Here, step by step, is how to modify ZTerm to never display bold fonts.
-
- 1: Make a copy of Z-Term.
- 2: Run ResEdit.
- 3: Open the copy of ZTerm with ResEdit.
- 4: Open ZTermNoBold with ResEdit.
- 5: Select all the resources in ZTermNoBold and copy them
- (either command-C or use the Copy command in the Edit Menu)
- 6: Select the ZTerm window.
- 7: Paste (command-V) the resources into the ZTerm window.
- 8: A dialog appears asking you whether to replace existing resources.
- You must replace the existing resources. Do not select Unique ID.
- 9: Save and close the copy of ZTerm.
- 10: Quit ResEdit.
- 11: Remove your original ZTerm and put it in a safe place.
- 12: Put your new, modified copy of ZTerm where the original used to be.
- 13: All done. Call up your favorite local ANSI BBS and enjoy the change.

- Credits: Thanks to the denizens of Acorn BBS, Freeport, Maine, for this
- very simple modification. Acorn runs 4 lines at 1-207-865-3004 and
- is undoubtedly the finest BBS in Maine, with over 10,000 files for
- all types of computers.
- Acorn is a pay BBS ($0.75/hour) but you can sample Acorn by
- logging on as GUEST or GUEST ANSI.
